The show will follow all the phases and multifaceted “explorations” of this extraordinary artist, ranging from painting to scenography, cinema, the “visualisation of music” through a system of forms and colours developed by him, etchings, graphics, photography, and the applied arts.
Section FOCUS curated by art critic and historian Marco Meneguzzo, will regard so-called “exact art” (which includes kinetic art, programmed art, and similar trends) from the late '50s to the '70s, with specific attention to the Italian scene.
The show will propose the investigative work created by Sandro De Alexandris from the early part of the 1960s. It is a work that, by questioning the linguistic foundations of painting and sculpture, presents itself as an interrogation of their choices and tools, an intensive investigation that ranges from the field of the work to the space that hosts it and on which it projects a possible development.
